How to Create a Paper Christmas Tree

Materials

  • Paper plates
  • Green and red paints (watercolor or acrylic)
  • Brushes or sponges
  • Containers to hold paint
  • Pom-poms decorations 
  • Pipe cleaners or chenille sticks 
  • Glue
  • Safety scissors
  • Stapler
  • Transparent tape
  • Construction paper

Instructions

  1. Make a small cut starting from the outside to the center of the paper plate
  2. Color the inner part of the paper plate green or your favorite color. 
  3. Allow to dry. 
  4. Color the rim of the paper plate red or your favorite color. 
  5. Then, allow it to dry. 
  6. Wrap one end of the paper plate towards one side. 
  7. Staple together the seams, creating a cone shaped tree. 
  8. Make a star from yellow construction paper. 
  9. Paste pom-poms, chenille sticks, or glitter to decorate the craft. 
  10. Use transparent tape to add chenille sticks or pipe cleaners around the tree. 
  11. Wrap the chenille sticks around the tree to resemble garland or ribbon.
  12. Allow the decorations to set. 
  13. Optional: write children’s names on the side of the tree. 
  14. Enjoy your crafts.
